Prison Shoot with Film Crew
Photo shoot with film crew.
Women’s Prison: Concord, NH
I was able to join a film crew as a still photographers assistant. There were about 20 members, not including the prison staff who needed to escort us from room to room. The prison was under construction for a 200+ inmate facility.
I learned two main points about being a part of this camera crew. One: everyone has a specific job. Two: you need to be the kind of person that people want to hang out with. There are time constraints and unexpected events. Most of all be prepared for the unexpected. This comes in handy if someone trips over an extension cord, knocks over the tripod along with the attached camera.
You have to be able to go with the flow and fix problems along the way. Overall it was a positive experience given we were cut short by two and a half hours.
