The Price of SEO
Getting to Page One
I just met with an SEO guy this morning about his SEO services. The general guide is that you pay a set-up fee, a monthly charge (ONLY if you get on page one) and a service contract for one year. This will cost about $1K-$2K/year.
SEO is a full time job. Constant work is involved as Google creates new algorithms that rate and index web content.
Keywords are getting less recognized by search engines, the real value is in the content writing, page descriptions, and backward linking to your site. Links need to be created back to your website that make sense.
It seems as you search, Google remembers what pages you open, (this is not just a cache in your browser). Google will continually bring your viewed pages to the top of the search. You can test this by doing the same search on a different computer. I like to go to the local library and see what comes up.
If you really want to be on page one – your going to need to work at it – or hire an expert.
