Positive Marketing
A positive marketing approach
As artists and inventors we can come up with really far out for ideas. In my business, of designing for start-ups, I see many great ideas. Some ideas move forward faster than others. When I’m working with a new client – with new ideas — and new products I sometimes get a lot of negativity from fellow artists and developers. “The product is no good”, “know one will ever want that”, “Those people are scamming” … whatever anyone thinks (or says) does not determine a success from happening. Those who know what their doing, and know that what their doing is marketable, and intensely work and persevere (despite the devil’s advocates) will succeed in some respect.
It’s the effort with conviction that creates the success. There will always be malcontents, that put your idea down. Forget them. Instead, align with people who think the way you do and add them to your diet.
Basic human principals will bring alignment with the general population. Fear is one. Depression is another. You can go for those if you want – many people are stuck in their negativity. However, there are other qualities such as health, love, happiness, and wealth. Next time you’re in front of a TV watch for what their selling. It will be one of the above. Marketing will either sell you sometime you want, or something you don’t want.
I’ve working with marketing on both sides of the coin, sell to avoid pain or sell to promote pleasure. From my experience the positive wins most of the time. When thinking of how to present a product with conviction align with positive human experiences.
