A Word about Themify
I have been using Themify themes for several years on my WordPress installs, and they keep getting better. I’ve used the Landing theme for my past three web builds. I found this a very versatile modern theme. There’s a short learning curve — maybe a bit confusing a first — but once you get it, it’s really quite amazing. Some funny styling — the underscore under the H2 heading seems to need custom coding to remove — but after a while I got used to the look and was OK with it. The overall headings seems a bit large. Using the front end builder tool really makes for quick designing, but at times it seems unstable — I have lost entire galleries. Sometimes I need to switch over to the builder tool in the content editor.
Much improvement has been made to the style section in the builder tool. These are over the top crazy fun styles that are available at the push of a button — incredible.
Themify themes in general work well with most of my favorite plug-ins — I try not to use too many.
I’ve been using some of their great little add-ons. The contact form is my least favorite — lacks easy styling – like most contact forms. The Before & After works great — even when using multiple times on the same page — no noticeable lags. It even work on the iPad which was a complete surprise. The Themify B&A add-on is much, much, easier than other B&A plug-ins I’ve used.
The Themify folks really have something good going. These kind of tools will be the PowerPoint of web design and make web development accessible to everyone.
